Race Director 2013 Enhancements Concluded
The development of Race Director 2013 is at a conclusion now. I will make bug corrections and minor enhancements only from this point forward to Race Director 2013. Click here to see all the features and enhancements included in the 2013 version.
The following are some of the ideas that will be addressed first.
I'm finding that more and more timers are stressing the lap results components in Race Director. The plan is to come up with more choices about how teams are scored, better GRU output options and more control over the data you can export in lap races. Changes will also be made to make the flow of results more natural to live results reporting at my-finish.com.
My-Finish / QR Improvements
Lap results and some sort of cross country reporting are next in the queue for my-finish.com inetgration. If you have not tried my-finish.com yet, you'll want to give this a try. The first race is free - you will be surprised at how simple it is to turn your chip system reads into smart phone ready results. Over 200 races have used my-finish.com thus far and the results have been fantastic.
My-finish.com is great for small to mid-sized races. But, if you want an industrial strength live results platform, you really should get in contact with the guys from Xact (David Simms, Brad Chick). I've been working long and hard with Bas van Beek during the past two months and we've gotten off to a great start in making the integration between Race Director and Xact seemless and bullet-proof. I'm really happy with the approach Xact is taking - they're truly leaving the timers alone with regard to the scoring software and putting a lot of effort in partnerning with me to have really good integration. The most basic level of integration (participant data transfer) is ready now - so, let us know if you're ready to see this in action.
Additional GRU Capabilities
While working out the best way to integrate data for live results for my-finish and Xact, I'm coming to a conclusion that standard GRU output should be following the same path. This will be a big area of emphasis in Race Director 2014.
