3 of 9 Bar Code Labels

When you choose the option to print Participant ID labels, you have the option of printing the label with the bib number shown as a bar code.  This allows for the quick scanning of the finish order into the system at the completion of the race.  Before you can successfully print labels with bar codes, it is necessary to have the 3 of 9 bar code font that the program is expecting installed on your computer.

Installation in Microsoft Windows is easy. Open the Control Panel group, double-click on the Fonts icon to open the Fonts dialog.  From the File pull-down, select "Install New Font".  Navigate to the WINRACE directory and the "3 of 9 Bar Code (True Type)" should show up as a selectable font. Select the font, then click on the OK button and the font will be installed.

Tip: Although the creation of bar codes on labels is easy to do in Race Director, you should also consider purchasing commercially created bar codes from your bib supplier.  Commercial bar codes have the advantage of being created on a laminated surface that is more resistant to the elements and perspiration than is possible when creating your own labels.
